My wife sells on Whatnot.
When she's sourcing — flea markets, estate sales, thrift stores, garage sales — time is everything. There are other people right next to her, looking at the same items. Whoever can identify what something is and what it's worth in seconds walks away with the find. Whoever can't, watches it walk away with somebody else.
That's how MarketplaceIQ started. One tool, one job: figure out what something is, what it's worth, and whether it's worth flipping. Snap a photo, get an answer in seconds. So she stops missing the ones worth taking.
What it does
Every scan does three things you can't easily do at the same time on your own:
- Identifies the item using three independent recognition engines that cross-check each other. Most apps use one. We use three because identification is where everyone else fails.
- Pulls real eBay sold-listing data — not asking prices, not estimates. Median, average, high, low, plus individual sales. The numbers buyers actually paid.
- Shows you the sales velocity — 90-day and 180-day counts so you know how fast it moves, not just what it sells for.
That's the whole product. Snap, identify, price, decide. The "decide" part is what matters in the aisle.
Why real sold data matters
If you've ever paid $12 for something an asking-price app told you was worth $40, you already know. Asking prices are aspirational. Sold prices are the truth. MarketplaceIQ leads with sold data because that's the only number that helps a reseller actually make money.
What's coming next
Right now MarketplaceIQ pulls eBay sold data. We're working on Mercari, Poshmark, Whatnot, and TikTok Shop next — because real resellers don't sell on one platform, and your tools shouldn't assume you do. Native mobile apps for iOS and Android are also in flight. We'll get there.
