What's selling right now
This first issue's running a little late — thanks for your patience. From here, it lands every Monday: five fast picks on what's actually selling right now. No hype, no guesses — just current prices and the one detail that separates the cheap piece from the valuable one.
1. Vintage milk glass ~$30
Milk glass sells in the $30 range right now, and it's one of the deepest, most liquid corners of vintage on eBay — it moves fast even at modest margins. The money's in the marks: signed Fenton (look for the logo) and early Atterbury pieces clear $300+. Grab the cheap hobnail and openwork lots to flip quick; pull anything signed for the high shelf.
2. Vintage band & tour tees ~$45
Typical sales sit around $45, but it's all in the details. Single-stitch hems, an era-correct tag, and a tour-date back print are what push a shirt toward the $1,500+ deadstock ceiling. A common reprint and a real vintage tour tee look identical in a thumbnail — the tag and the stitching are where you win.
3. Canon AE-1 ~$120
Film cameras are having a moment, and the AE-1 is running on the higher end right now, around $120. One heads-up on liquidity: cameras sell slower and thinner than glass, so price to move. The premium combos — a black body plus an L-series lens — reach $400+. Always confirm a working light meter and clean shutter; a dead meter drops it to parts value.
4. Shellac 78 RPM records ~$20
The pile sells for about $20, which is exactly why people walk past the gold. Prewar Paramount blues — Charley Patton, Robert Johnson — hit $1,500+. It's the label and the matrix number, not the artist on the sleeve, that tell you what you've got. Worth flipping through the stack at any estate sale.
5. Signed costume brooches ~$10 → $75+
What our users are hunting this week
Over the last two weeks, the most repeated hunt among MarketplaceIQ users has been vintage signed brooches. A Boucher floral just sold around $75; unsigned versions go for about $10. The whole game is on the back: flip the pin over and read the mark — Boucher, Trifari, Coro. That signature is the difference, and they're cheap and light to source.
